the essay of the story Mr know all - correction

An essay about the story mr know all:

In the story, there are two main characters: Mr Kelada and the narrator. Mr. Kelada isn't a typical English man who is trying to be someone who is not. He got to the ship for business.  The narrator is affected by prejudice and judges people by their appearances.

Mr. Kelada is a short guy and of a sturdy build and a clean shaven guy with dark skinned. He has a hooked and very large nose. His eyes are lustrous and liquid. He has long black hair, which is sleek and curly. He is a chatty, arrogant and a dogmatic person who doesn't like it when people tell him what to do or whether he is right or not. He was born under a bluer sky which you hardly see in England, which means he is not British, according to the narrator he is probably a Levantine guy.

on the Contrary, the narrator is a judgmental person according to what other people wear, and where they were born. If someone is not a British man, he doesn't want anything to do with him. He likes his privacy and don't like it when people interrupt his own business.

To sum up, my own opinion is that I stand for Mr. Kelada. He knows how to live his life and doesn't care what other people think of his actions. He sees every moment of his life as a gift that should be used.

Reflaction - Mr know all

Reflection: p-25

1.     I enjoyed reading this story because it had a moral. It teaches us that judging people by their appearances, looks, origins and stereotypes makes us misjudg people and have wrong first impressions of them.
2.     I found surprising that after the narrator saw Mr. Kelada's noble action he still didn’t say that he changed completely his point of view about Mr. Kelada, he only said that he just did not entirely dislike Mr. Kelada.
3.     Learning about the thinking skill influenced my understanding of the story by helping me focus on the characters in the story and on the story's plot. Moreover, it helped my understand the characters of the story more deeply.

post reading - Mr know all

post reading: p-25
The new description of Mr. Kelada from the narrator's point of view is that of Mr. Kelada's behavior for Mrs. Ramsay. After Mr. Kelada did the heroic action for Mrs. Ramsay, the narrator's point of view changed.

The narrator started to see Mr. Kelada in a different light, meaning the narrator started to see the real character of Mr. Kelada. He stopped judging him by his appearance, name and origin. Moreover after Mr. Kelada's heroic action, the narrator's character changed completely because he saw that he misjudged Mr. Kelada before he even knew him and he based his judgement on Mr. Kelada's bad first impression.

To sum up, the narrator is point of view changed thanks to Mr. Kelada is heroic action. He learned that his judgmental character was wrong about Mr. Kelada and he judged him before he even knew Mr. Kelada's real character.

bridging text and context of count that day lost - correction

bridging text and context:

A. This poem relates to Eliot's poem by saying that if we spend time correctly and know how to balance time and organize it, we could do a lot of things and get the most of a day.
It reflects the issues that Eliot wrote about , by saying in the poem that everything has a time of its own and we have to know how to spend it correctly and make sure we do it right because if we don't know how to do everything on time , we won't be able to do the all things we wanted to do and that day will be considered a day
"worse than lost"

B.
The previous page gives us information about Eliot's life and how she managed to write poems even though she was a female that lived in a chauvinist society that didn't accept female as equal to men.

Eliot was Mary Ann Evans's pen name and she used it because the time she lived in wasn't thrilled about women go to work and certainly not possessing the literature subjects. Women's work was to be at home raising the children and taking care of their husband when he returns from work.

Moreover the previous page shows us that the way society treated to women didn't stop her from do what she liked, to be a poet. she knew that society won't even look at her work just because she is a woman, so she wort poems with a male's pen name, that way she could write poems and to the thing she liked most without getting humiliat attitude and disrespect from society.

to sum up, The previous page add to my understanding of the poem that Eliot wasn't like other women back then, she didn't gave up her dream just because society told her to. she found a way to the thing she liked, writing poems, and make sure society won't  find out that those poem were written by a women.

The essay of the story mr know all

An essay about the story mr know all:

In the story, there are two main characters: Mr Kelada and the narrator. Mr. Kelada is a non British(not correct - he is British, but not a typical one) person who is trying to be someone who is not. he got to the ship for business.  The narrator is a British prejudiced(ww.) person, who judges people on(ww.) their appearances. He(ww.- Everyone on the ship was traveling to Japan, not only him) was going from sun (sp.- San) Francisco to Yokohama.

Mr. Kelada is a short guy and of a sturdy build and a clean shaven guy with a(מיותר) dark skinned. He has a hooked and very large nose. His eyes are lustrous and liquid. He has a(מיותר) long black hair, which is sleek and curly. He is a chatty, arrogant and a dogmatic person who doesn't like (it) when people tell him what to do or whether he is right or not. He was born under a bluer sky which you hardly see in England, which means he is not British, according to the narrator he is probably a Levantine guy.

Although(ww.) the narrator is a judgmental person according to what other people wear, and where they were born. If someone is not a British person(ww.), he doesn’t want anything to do with him. He likes his privacy and don’t(gr.) like (it) when people get to(ww.) his own business.- That's not everything we know about him.

To sum up, my own opinion is that I stand for Mr. Kelada. He knows how to live his life and don’t(gr.) care what other people think of his actions,(start a new sentence) and(מיותר) he sees every moment of his life as a gift that should be used.

Not bad.

post reading activity- correction

post reading activity:
1/10/12
Dear editor of the newspaper(מיותר),
You might be aware of the issue that women don’t really count in society and because of that injustice phenomenon(מיותר), women can't be (as) successful just(מיותר) as men. For that reason, women have to fake their identity and do other tricks just to be as successful as men.

In some cases, women succeed to trick the society and they manage to show the world what they are capable of, without limits from society, and when they succeed to manage their willing(phr.). It makes their days worth while(when) they do the things they like.

But in some cases they can't manage their willing(phr.) and it makes their days worth less then lost, mining(sp.) they didn’t accomplish anything and they couldn’t do what they wished for. - too vague. What exactly do you mean? What is it they want to do and can't?

To sum up, society should let women do whatever they want and work wherever they want. (New sentence) without(ww.- They shouldn't) being(gr.-be) judge(d) by men and the whole society just for being a women.

This still needs work.

Dear editor of the newspaper,
You might (be) aware of the issue that women don’t really count in society and because of that unequal(ww.) phenomenon, women can't be successful just as men. For that reason, women have to make fake and other tricks(phr.) just to be (as) successful as men.
In some cases women succeed to trick the society and they manage to show the world what they are capable of (you are missing a word here) without limits from society, and when they succeed to manage their willing(phr.) it makes their days worth(while).

But in some cases they can't manage their willing(phr.-what do you mean?) and it makes their days worth (less) then(sp.) lost, mining(sp.) they didn’t accomplish anything and they couldn’t do what they wished for.

Now you need a final paragraph to conclude and make your point - what is it that you are actually trying to say here? Why did you write the letter to the editor? What was the purpose?
